Workshop Synopsis

Welcome to the Working Smart in Teams with Microsoft Outlook Workshop. This essential management skills programme has been designed to provide you and your team or workgroup with the knowledge, skills and competencies to effectively use Priority Processes with the Microsoft Outlook Tool to improve team performance across the board.

Unit 1:

Team Assessment: In the first unit you will assess the current reality of your team including your team’s ability to leverage Outlook as a tool. You will also learn the characteristics of a high performance team and the five essential team processes. Your team will develop protocols for e-mail use.

Unit 2:

Key Result Planning: Your team will identify and clarify key organisational strategies. You will develop a Strategy Map for your important key results areas and align these with other organisational goals.

Unit 3:

Team Goal Setting: Your team will learn how to develop ‘smart’ goals and determine if they are projects or operational work. You will transfer the goals into Outlook and create public folders for each project.

Unit 4:

Project Planning: Your team will turn intentions into actions by learning the process for small project planning and using Outlook as the key project communication and delivery tool.

Unit 5:

Effective Team Meetings: Meetings are the forums for teams to communicate actions, the results of actions, problem-solve and make decisions. Your team will learn how to make the most of meeting time and use Outlook to organise and follow-up on action plans.

Unit 6:

Continuous Improvement: The team will complete the Continuous Improvement Questionnaire and discover their strengths and opportunities for innovation and growth in five essential skill sets.

Unit 7:

Development Guide - Action Planning: By using the insights from the previous unit the team will identify key processes which can be improved and develop action plans using Outlook applications to accomplish their goals.

Unit 8:

Taking Ownership: Being accountable guarantees better results. The team will learn accountability best practices, determine who is accountable and for what and use Outlook to both measure and review work in the future.

Unit 9:

Optimal Experience: Your team will learn what work constitutes optimal experience and learn the rules for achieving high performance.

Unit 10:

Back in the Workplace: Summarises all the key learning from the workshop and provides a recipe for learning transfer back on the job. You will review the Outlook Quick Guide in order to deploy your technology most effectively to manage goals, projects, meetings and communication.
